The.law places a severe duty on property owner/managers to monitor and control the asbestos risk. An asbestos
building survey is the pre-curser to the risk strategy.
. |
To ensure the asbestos surveys are carried out to meet the published standard guidelines,
Even-Air's surveys includes the inspection for and identification of all asbestos or asbestos material throughout the building or portion
of the building where asbestos containing material may be disturbed during renovation or
demolition.
. |
| Even-Air's
certified inspectors will review building plans and records, if available, for references to asbestos or asbestos material used in construction, renovation or
repair as well as interviewing the building engineer to become familiar with possible ACM locations and building systems.
Inspectors will also sample all suspect material for analysis by a laboratory accredited by the AIHA or by the New York State Department of Health and map out of all locations of asbestos or asbestos material including an estimate of the quantities, types, and condition of the suspected
materials.
Although extremely thorough, our Inspectors are discreet in their actions, never raising panic or alarm.
.
|
| With the data generated from the field inspection a report is written, in most cases by the technician in the field who performed the survey. The survey report consists of an executive summary, description of survey methods, discussion of findings, and recommendation sections, along with copies of all laboratory results of sampling.
The completeness of Even-Air's inspections often identify hidden conditions
before they can become change orders.

Form ACP5, "Not an Asbestos Project" |
| An asbestos project is defined as any form of work that will disturb more than 25 linear feet or more than 10 square feet of asbestos-containing material.
If the work for which a Department of Buildings permit is sought is not an asbestos project, a NYC- certified asbestos investigator
must complete, sign, and affix his or her seal to the "Not an Asbestos Project" form.
Even-Air's experienced inspectors are certified to perform these
duties.
